Congratulations to Mrs. Adriana Aloia
Mrs. Aloia  has been selected to receive an award by the NYC chapter of the American Association of Teachers of Spanish (AATSP).  She will be given the Theodore Huebner Award for Service at the AATSP   for being proactive in promoting the study of Spanish and its culture through the varied school, community and professional activities.

Janet Matthews Publishes Travel Experience. Westlake English teacher Janet Matthews is passionate about using travel to help authenticate her literature lessons. Her trip to Tunisia last summer added a new depth to her lessons on The Odyssey for her classes this year. She wrote about her travel experience and its impact on her students for the February 4 issue of New York Teacher, a trade publication for educators. A consummate professional, Ms. Matthews is a past recipient of a Fulbright scholarship and a nationally certified teacher, having earned the honor in 2004 from the National Board for Professional Teaching.
