The seventh annual Westlake Science Fair was held on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Westlake High School. The event has grown exponentially over the years filling both the gym and the cafeteria to capacity with poster board displays. This year, 365 1st-year science research students from 16 schools presented poster boards of their intended research to over 230 judges (a nearly 30% increase over last year's event). Students spent approximately 15 minutes presenting their research to four separate judges. Judges included graduating seniors who have been part of the science research program.
This year, Westlake has 11 sophomores taking part in the science research program: Colleen Bradley, Samantha Castellano, Julia Clark, Kenny Dronzek, Olivia Eng, Paul Gschneider, Caleb Levitt, Liam Naughton, Nicole Musial, Roman Raguso, and Jake Szeszko.
Congratulations to the following Westlake students who received trophies for their presentations:
Colleen Bradley & Nicole Musial (1st Place Cellular & Molecular Biology)
Samantha Castellano (3rd Place Earth & Planetary Science/Physics)
Julia Clark (2nd Place Behavioral Science)
Kenny Dronzek (1st Place Medicine & Health)
Caleb Levitt (3rd Place Animal Science)
Liam Naughton (1st Place Medicine & Health)
