Principal

Mr. Daniel Brady serves as the Principal of Westlake High School in the Mount Pleasant Central School District, effective July 1, 2025. Before he was appointed principal, Mr. Brady served as Westlake High School’s Assistant Principal, where he collaborated closely with Mr. Schenker on instructional leadership, master scheduling, and the development of the Districtwide Code of Conduct. He was also instrumental in launching the Career Research Academy, further strengthening student opportunities in the classroom and beyond.

Before joining Mount Pleasant, Mr. Brady served as Assistant Principal at Woodlands Middle High School in the Greenburgh Central School District, where he provided instructional leadership, managed the master schedule, and administered discipline. His experience in education spans multiple roles, including principal, assistant principal, dean, science teacher, and classroom teacher in both public and parochial schools.

Mr. Brady is recognized for his student-centered approach, thoughtful decision-making, and ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and families. His leadership emphasizes rigorous instruction, social-emotional development, and the cultivation of life-long learners and leaders.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from the College of Charleston, a Master of Science in Childhood Education, and a Master of Science in Educational Leadership, both from Lehman College. He is currently pursuing a doctoral degree at Russell Sage College, focusing on performance-based assessments and their impact on student learning and achievement.

 

Assistant Principal

Mr. Richard Sharpe serves as the Assistant Principal of Westlake High School in the Mount Pleasant Central School District. He brings extensive experience as both an educator and administrator, with a proven record of fostering student engagement, supporting instructional excellence, and building positive school communities.

Before joining Mount Pleasant, Mr. Sharpe served as Assistant Principal for Instructional and Operational Support at The Bronx School for Law, Government, and Justice, where he supervised multiple academic departments including English Language Arts, Social Studies, English as a New Language, and Physical Education. Before that, he taught mathematics at Woodlands High School and spent seven years as a mathematics teacher and Dean of Students at The Bronx School for Law, Government, and Justice.

Mr. Sharpe is widely recognized for his student-centered leadership and his ability to cultivate environments where students’ voices are heard and valued. His work reflects a deep commitment to educating the whole child through rigorous academics and strong social-emotional supports.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics Education from Boston University, a Master of Education in Teaching and Learning from SUNY Empire State University, and advanced certificates in School Leadership from the Center for Integrated Training and Education at The College of St. Rose.
