Mu Alpha Theta Welcomes 23 New Members

    Faculty advisor Danielle Locher and club leadership Patricia Keating, Andrew Alberti,Isabella Alberti, Isabella Kalavaci, and Paul Occhigrossi welcomed families, friends, faculty members and guests and gave an overview of the society and the membership requirements as well as leading the induction oath.

     Congratulations to the 2024 inductees: Gavin Blide, Lia Buccello, Sophia Cardarelli, Lilly Duer, Ella DiVito, Samantha DiPaolo, Thomas Fiskaa, Zachary Gromulat, Nareh Hovsepyan, Jasmine Joseph, Sukhsimran Kaur, Brian Kim, Veronica Ludwiszewski, Chloe Mckeon, Robert Michael, Maggie Plotkin, Lia Prosperino, Ava Raguso, Sofia Ruggiero, Ryan Samoyedny, Jade Soto, Sophie Stekowski, and Milly Verna. 

     The National High School and Two-Year College Mathematics Honor Society, was formed in 1957 at the University of Oklahoma, and is dedicated to inspiring a keen interest in mathematics, developing strong scholarship in the subject, and promoting the enjoyment of mathematics. The goal and hope of the Westlake Chapter is to embolden mathematical service, promote mathematical leadership and encourage students to participate in activities involving math outside of the classroom. Members must have completed the equivalent of two years of college preparatory mathematics, including algebra and/or geometry, and have completed or are enrolled in a third year of college preparatory mathematics, as well as participate in required math meets, maintain an overall GPA of an 85%, and maintain a mathematics GPA of a 90%.
