Special Award at NHS Induction Ceremony
Each year at the NHS event, Doctors Carl and Norma Braun present this very special award in memory of their daughter Aimee. For over 25 years, this $1000 Travel/ Study Scholarship has commemorated Aimee’s loyal and generous spirit toward others, combined with an energy and enthusiasm for life. This award honors students who have given of themselves in the same way Aimee did.
Sukhi Kaur is a dedicated, driven, responsible, and empathetic individual who consistently strives for excellence in both academic and personal pursuits. This student has challenged herself with advanced classes, including a three-year sequence of our rigorous science research program, all while maintaining Summa Honor Roll each quarter of each year. She has taken advantage of the benefits of observing her older sibling who has modeled quality traits of independence, diligence and leadership. She is passionate about her academics, takes pride in her work, and thrives in an academically challenging environment.
Outside of academics, she is a compassionate leader who takes pride in giving back to her community-- whether she is participating in Tech Crew assisting senior citizens with technology, virtually tutoring students during the pandemic, or even designing her own YouTube platform where she and her sister create educational videos to help students. She has a genuine care and concern for others.
Her ability to balance academic rigor with personal growth, while maintaining a positive attitude and a genuine desire to help others, sets her apart as a remarkable and unique individual.
Fun fact: Sukhi’s sister Mandeep won the award a few years ago!
